It’s one thing to hold a personal opinion. It’s another thing to be part of a community of faith that believes together. We say “we believe.” You must have an individual faith, trust and belief in Jesus producing a personal relationship with him. But no faith stands alone. To have God as your Father is to have the church as your mother, because God uses His church to draw you into the community of faith, nurture and sustain you, and grow you up to full maturity in Christ. In the church we submit to our common faith in Jesus.
