Peter’s teaching to the gathered people is full of love and compassion. He truly wanted them to receive God’s Word and understand the power of Jesus Christ. He longed for them to be convicted by God’s Word and turn around, to repent and find refreshment for their souls. One of the key elements of church is coming together to hear the Word of God in a posture of humble receptivity. From the beginning, God told His people to gather for the purpose of hearing His Word. It is just not the same to get good teaching on a podcast. Something uniquely powerful happens when you come with other believers to hear the Word.
