In the Valley of Dry Bones, the prophet speaks the Word of God. The Word brings order out of disorder, clarity out of chaos. But there is still no life. Then the Lord tells Ezekiel to prophecy to the breath, the Spirit. Now there is life. The Spirit comes over the Word and brings life. We pray “Come Holy Spirit” today, that God would send His Holy Spirit to us and bring us to life. We can receive the Holy Spirit because of Jesus, who took on our sin, who let His bones be pulled apart, so that we could be forgiven and whole.
