Sin’s curse is heavy. This is primarily the freedom we are talking about that Christ has won. Do you know the weight of the curse of sin? All of us have fallen short. None of us is righteous. The law demands perfect holiness. Our mistakes follow us around. Our errors weigh us down. The curse of the law lays heavy across our shoulders. Jesus became cursed so that we could know freedom. This is something God wants “given” (v22) and received as a gift. Not earned by merits. Through Christ we are forgiven and freed from the curse of sin. “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” (John 8:36)
