We are freed in Christ from the false lines of separation we create. There are few verses in Scripture that have had a greater impact than Galatians 3:28. Some verses paint a picture of a future ideal which, for most periods of history, only appears as a distant hope. But the longing to know such a society has a steady impact over time until the reality of it comes. Slavery ends. Bigotry ends. Sexism dies. Many of the ways our culture talks about racial and other differences actually pins people in place, opposed to one another, with no opportunity for reconciliation or a new, bright future of unity. In Christ we are one. This is true freedom.
