The Great Rescue includes a hero who must die to save others. Jesus laid down His life as a sacrifice for our sins that we might be reconciled to God for eternal life. He came to be an atoning sacrifice, the Lamb who takes away the sins of the world. As we enter a new year, let us come to the table recognizing that Jesus did not rescue us through teachings or philosophies or arguments, but through His body broken and His blood shed on our behalf.
