Thomas, often called Doubting Thomas, shows the other side of his character here. If Jesus is courageously walking back into Judea where powerful opponents seek to take His life, Thomas is resolved in his heart—he will give his life for the Lord he loves. There is little more freeing than finding that cause worthy of your life. Jesus is worth dying for. Once you have given your life to Him, no one can take it away from you. You are unbound and free with your life in His hands (cf Jn 12:25).
