Our God is a Spirit. We live by the very breath of the living God, the Spirit. God the Holy Spirit is near to us wherever we are. The Holy Spirit pours into us and brings life. The Nicene Creed says, “We believe…in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Giver of Life.” In the prophet Ezekiel, the power of God was in the Spirit. As we worship on Pentecost and into the summer, we call on the Lord, the Holy Spirit, to come into our presence and do what only God can do.
