Volunteer for Christmas Eve

Help us make Christmas Eve a warm and welcoming experience!

We want to be Light + Life for the City, and you can join our mission by volunteering at one or more of our Christmas Eve services at First Pres. We will welcome many new guests from the community, and for most, this will be their first encounter with First Pres—and perhaps with the good news of the gospel. You can be the hands and feet of Jesus by signing up to greet visitors, assist with parking, and distribute tickets for services. You can make an eternal impact by serving snacks, ushering attendees, helping newcomers find their way, or volunteering in our nursery. No matter when you are available to serve, we have a spot for you!

Volunteer Opportunities

Candlelight Service

Kitchen Elves

Extending biblical hospitality needs many kitchen elves, including a prep team the day before Christmas Eve, kitchen aides, and food runners. Plus, we need hundreds of cookies baked and delivered to the church!

Welcome Team

The Welcome Team shares the light of the Lord as we eagerly greet our Christmas Eve guests. Together, we create a comfortable atmosphere for worship as ushers and greeters, both indoor and outdoor, with a two-hour service commitment outside the service you choose to attend.

Nursery

Join us this Christmas Eve in our lively nursery! We welcome volunteers aged 13 and up with prior Family Ministries experience, or those over 18 with a valid background check, to help create a joyful and safe environment for our little ones. Let’s make this night special for families!

Thousands of treats are needed for a hospitable experience. To contribute cookies or bite size treats, please bring them to the Welcome Desk sealed in freezer bags starting December 2nd. Please label cookies if they are gluten free or if they contain nuts.

 

Let us know you’re available to take down decorations the week of January 6th and we will contact you to coordinate times. Many hands make light work!
