The Prophet Isaiah declared the future coming of a Savior. Like all prophecy and all mystery there was only a shadow of what was to come. For as much as he saw, there was much more he didn’t see. “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6) Isaiah didn’t know it, but he was Naming Jesus. Now we can say we understand much more what each of these titles means. We have seen the Lord. The Word has come incarnate, and we have seen his life play out, full of grace and truth. But the real adventure begins when you name Jesus. Jesus asked, “Who do you say that I am?” What will you name Jesus?
