Turn Again
Turned
- Tim McConnell
Mar. 9
“Turn me and I will be turned” is the old KJV of verse 18. What is conversion? It is a total change in life comprised of repentance and faith. It cannot be an external change of habits or intentions. It is an internal rebirth. Jeremiah knew what would really make a change was when the law was written inside the human heart. The old heart of stone is removed and a new heart of flesh is installed (cf Ezekiel 36:26). To experience conversion is to take God into your heart where He turns your entire life direction. You are no longer dead, but alive. You are no longer ignorantly disobedient, but desiring to do good, to love God and love neighbor. Jesus did not come to make good people better; He came to make dead people come to life. We remember the sins of our youth with regret; but God forgives and makes us whole when we repent.
