First Pres is responding to the devastation caused by Hurricane Ian September 27-28, by opening a hurricane relief fund. The fund will be used in two ways. First, we are partnering with World Renew, an organization helping homeowners in Florida rebuild in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian. Second, we are coming alongside our partners in Cuba at First Presbyterian Reformed Church of Havana, after their church suffered structural damage from the storm. You can donate to the Hurricane Relief Fund on our website by clicking "Give," then "Give Now." Select "Add Another Account," and choose "Hurricane Relief." Then you can fill in the amount you'd like to donate. You can also write a check to First Pres with "Hurricane Relief" or "Hurricane Ian" in the memo. Thank you for your generosity and prayers for our partners. For more information, please contact Gregory Zaloom, Missions Director, at gzaloom@firstprescos.org.

Guatemala Trip

First Pres has been blessed with incredible ministry partners - Socorro and Vida Joven - in San Marcos and Chimaltenango, Guatemala. These partners do incredible work for God's kingdom through holistic ministry: addressing food insecurity, education, health, youth and joblessness, equipping local churches, providing children's church and more. On our upcoming trip, facilitated by Del Camino Connection, we will reconnect with our partners for the first time since COVID-19, experience how the Holy Spirit is working through their ministries, and have the opportunity to serve alongside them. If you're interested in learning more about this trip, and picking up an application, join us at the informational meeting November 15 at 6:30 p.m. in the Cathedral Room (418). For questions, please email Missions Director, Greg Zaloom at gzaloom@firstprescos.org.

Living Sent

The Church isn't a building—it's people. We're sent into the world to bring the love of Christ to be Light and Life for the City. And we can't do it alone. We partner with other organizations holistically helping people both locally and globally.

Crossfire Ministries

First Pres collects non-perishable food donations the first Sunday of every month for our partner, Crossfire ministries! Crossfire provides a free of charge grocery shop for those in our community experiencing food insecurity. For November 6, you can bring thanksgiving themed items! Especially instant mashed potatoes, packets of gravy or canned yams and canned pumpkin.

About Crossfire Ministries

Local Engagement

God is at Work in Colorado Springs

Our deep desire as a church is to discover where God is already moving and join in His work! Just as we see Christ meeting tangible needs as well as spiritual needs, we partner with organizations both locally and globally who share this vision of holistic gospel ministry. We volunteer with and financially support 20 non-profits in Colorado Springs who care for and empower the most vulnerable members of our community.

Global Engagement

God is Building His Church Around the World

We’re called to take the gospel to the ends of the earth, and we think the best way to carry out that commission is by building deep, long-term partnerships with particular Christian communities around the world—strengthening and supporting them, listening to and learning from them—believing that no one is better equipped to transform a culture through the love of Christ than its own thriving local church.

  • Cuba: We partner with First Presbyterian Church of Havana and visit regularly to encourage the believers there in their ministry.
  • Egypt: Our most longstanding Global Partnership with Heliopolis Evangelical Church in Cairo.
  • Guatemala: Our newest and most travel-accessible partnership. We partner with multiple ministries working to alleviate poverty and hopelessness and strengthen communities.
  • Mongolia: We partner with Campus Crusade for Christ Mongolia in an extraordinary opportunity to resource the first- and second-generation church in Mongolia, where the gospel only came about 30 years ago.
