Fear stems from believing something else is Lord other than Jesus. When we give our allegiance to competing “lords” we fall into sin. Where is your hope? Where is your joy? To take joy is not an act of Christian triumphalism, winning our way victory by victory into heaven by overcoming our enemies by strength. To take joy is to walk with Jesus into the humble self-giving life that knows its soul belongs to the Lord, the true Lord, and will rise again with Him.
